The academic life presents many daunting challenges to young and aspiring scholars. Advice is available from many and diverse sources, but it is not always clear how authoritative and comprehensive this is. NIAS Press aims to remedy this with a series of books presenting down-to-earth, practically applicable advice on a range of issues of immediate relevance to (especially younger) scholars.
The series presents works from experts in their fields, often using multi-authored volumes as the best means to provide comprehensive and specific advice. The focus is both on elucidating the underlying structures and rationale behind elements of academic endeavour, and on providing clear guidance for successful navigation of various scholarly minefields.
The series is commissioned by NIAS Press’ Editor-in-Chief Gerald Jackson.
